Day 79: Nude Ravioli

The recipe I helped J. make for his project was literally "nude ravioli". We are experimenting with recipes from a regional Italian cookbook and this was one of them. Basically, it is the insides of a typical ravioli shaped into a ball and cooked on wax paper or parchment without being stuffed inside the pasta. They were good, but rich.

Day 76: The End of The Lord of the Rings

Finishing the Lord of the Rings trilogy was bittersweet. I've never taken this long to read a book(s). Usually, if I am really interested in a book, I'll finish it in a day or two, but everytime I picked up these books, I would fall asleep after 1-2 pages usually. Anyway, I truly enjoyed following Frodo and Sam on their journey. I had seen the movies a few times before but this is the first time I had read the books. I am glad I saw the movies first because I tend to be one of those people who get caught up in semantics and would be disappointed in differences between the books and movies. I wish I had kept track of some of the thoughts presented in the books better by writing or bookmarking them,
but I didn't. Great insights into war and life.

Day 75: The Story of George Washington

Excerpts from E's report that was part of her classes debate between
Lincoln and Washington... hehehe.
