Saturday: Kitchen Colors
This is the corner of the door that leads to the outside in the back of my kitchen. Seeing Julie's table, I had to post this because I find it fun that we have almost the same color kitchen with the same accents. Seeing the artwork hanging in her kitchen is really motivating me to finally hang the artwork I have in there. Right now, some of it is sitting on the windowsill. I have so many projects I want to tackle when my ankle is healed.

Hey I love your new template too! I find it easier on my eyes to look at non-black backgrounds.
Your door color is awesome. What I love about your house is the way you have such old moldings and door knobs etc. My house is very vanilla that way. The colors help me feel like my iconoclasym gets a chance to peek out from behind all that suburban ordinariness. Your house, however, is anything but ordinary!
Love the yellow too. I hope you post more photos of the colors in your house. I'm all about the color. :)
Love the wall color and your door.
Great contrasts between the old and new!

I actually still have the old template, I just changed the colors manually because I really wanted a springier (not that it turned out springy) layout.
Believe it or not, the moldings on our first floor are mostly new. So, that's why the wood around the door is lighter... is that what you thought was yellow? It's really the color of the wood.
Anyway, the kitchen, my bedroom, the girls room and the laundry room are really the only rooms where I am happy with the color. We did paint our diningroom when we first moved in but I am tired of that deep burgandy color. I have a lot more work to do in the rest of my house. I like your house because you have color and you have artwork hanging up everywhere. I seem to rarely get around to the hanging up part.
I miss those beautiful details. In our previous house downtown and the very old house I grew up in, they were everywhere. This house has nothing very architectually (SP?) interesting in it at all.
You know, my artwork is all prints and snap together frames. Nothing special. My favorite "real" artwork is the stuff my kids produce. Otherwise, I'm just a bin of museum posters. :)
I like the color of the wood and am glad to know it's wood. I suppose that's something I could look into doing!
Dalissa, you are brilliant! I looked into changing my template, but it said I might lose my posts. I just changed all my colors too! Thank you.
