I like it -- my grandmother was an artist, and she HATED drawing hands! In fact, in one of her paintings she tried and tried and tried to get the hands right and ended up hiding them under some pearls....
Yes... oil pastels. I like working with them but they start getting muddy after a certain point and my sketchbook paper is probably not the best for them. I also found it challenging to get the smaller wrinkles because they are so soft and the lines made by them are too chunky.
Completely unrelated - except I still think this drawing is groovy. I need to be "invited" to see that blog you mentioned on my page. Tried getting in but it said I wasn't cool enough to enter.

Sausage fingers are great!
Heck, it beats drawing "mitten" hands!!
Nice!

I like the tones used - the transulucent skin and flesh colored thumbnail contrasted with the deep blue shadow work well together.
I think the drawing is "arresting"....that's the word that came to my mind. I love the dark blue shadow!

Hey, this is nice...are you working with pastels?

... story of my life. I wasn't suprised. Ha!)
I like this a lot. I keep coming back to it. I like working with pastels especially when I am trying to capture a mood rather than details.
I think your drawing is pretty awesome since I can barely draw a "stick man".
