Boys: Sleepover

Josiah finally makes an appearance in the journal... phew! On any weekend, there is at least a few extra boys in our house. They all tell me they love me and share their junior high senses of humour with me, unguarded... fun!

Just playing around. I think I am addicted to self potraits.

That's a great shot of all the boys!

There is just something about self portraits, isn't there? I've taken I don't know how many pictures of myself today, and they surprise me. I look in the mirror every day, but don't think I really see myself.

I love the mask; the woman is ready!!

You crack me up. Your addiction is harmless though!

You just gave me flashbacks to a page in our art history book. This is oddly a page I have a strong visual image of in my head. It has a picture of Toulouse LauTrec's Moulin Rougue, and James Ensor's Intrigue. The Moulin Rougue painting has a woman in the forground whose face is oddly lit, looking masklike, and she has feathers in her hair. The picture under it (Ensor's) has a bunch of people wearing masks. I had just looked at this a few days ago, because I remembered what an impression it had on me in college. Your picture is an odd combination of elements from both. I know you will be mad at me for putting more meaning than intended....but that is what I got from it.

These are great. What a fabulous group of boys -- so much personality!

Umm, speaking of personality, I love getting to know yours thru all your self-portraits :-0.

Dalissa, this self-portaiture of yours is such a gift! Love your enthusiasm. Jeff's comments are great too and enhanced my appreciation of the mask.

C.'s expression is my favorite, but Josiah looks like he's thinking of a joke.

You look like you're ready to go to a masquerade - you just need a beautiful gown and you're set!

Luckily Jonah was here when I first saw this picture. I couldn't tell which one was Josiah. I was pretty sure, but only through the process of elimination. I think the hat threw me off.
