Day 14- Glassblowing 101...

This is the paperweight I made in glassblowing class last year with Eli. This window is located in my bathroom which is where I keep this paperweight on a shelf.

Detail shot.

Gorgeous!

Did you enjoy glass blowing? I've heard it's very hard.

Beautiful, Dali ~ both the photo and the paperweight. Can't imagine being able to create art like this; what a gift! I'll have to settle for taking in the many Chihuly pieces in this corner of the world.

The paperweight is gorgeous! You caught it just right in the light. Did you make anything else? Glass blowing seems like magic to me.

I love these photos! The light in the curtain is gorgeous. And I love your house. :) Great woodwork.

Oh, the glass, well yeah - you've got the knack my dear. I would love anything you did in my house. Love your use of color.

Wow Dalissa, the second picture shows the beauty of the paperweight but the first picture is simply stunning.

I like the mood of the first picture, sort of thoughtful.

Dali, those are beautiful -- the shots and the blown glass.

I would love to learn that.

Thanks! I really liked how the first photo turned out, too. I even took photos of the window and curtain without the paperweight because I liked the light coming through and how it reflected on the curtains so much.

And, yes, Susan, I loved glassblowing but it was difficult to say the least. I think it helped to have a background in ceramics because the part where one person blows through the pipe while the other rolls the pipe back and forth and shapes the glass is very rhythmic in a similar way to throwing.
